The main part of the house consists of a welcoming entry foyer with sitting space and natural stone walls followed by a combined large living/gathering area with kitchen and lounging space.  Off of this space you enter both the full bath and bedroom with window to its own garden.  Back in the main space, one corner consists of a raised loft with futon, allowing extra room for visiting friends or family.   The modern kitchen has ample wooden cabinetry, modern appliances, and more than ample space including the dining area.  These areas also offer views of the filtered pool and palm trees beyond.  The outdoor living space and pool are where we spend most our time in Merida, whether relaxing, entertaining, or just hanging out with friends.  Near the pool is a bubbling fountain constructed from an antique pump.  The low maintenance gardens were created for little effort, but also to afford color and shade once matured.  Between the pool and the automated garage sits the laundry/storage room.
