Renowned designers donate their time and work to benefit DIF of Yucatán.


Yucatan Arte + Moda (Yucatan Art and Fashion), taking place on Saturday November 22nd and beginning at 9:00 in the evening, will feature designs by renowned artists and fashion designers of international stature who have been inspired by the culture and local traditions of this area. All sales will go to benefit the DIF (Integral Family Development) governmental agency of the state. This agency is charged with looking after the welfare and best interests of children and families in Yucatan. The event is being held in the foyer of the historic Jose Peon Contreras Theater in the colonial center of Merida, Yucatan. Promoted by the Secretary of Culture and the Arts, the fashion event is being hosted by Festen Fashion Style.

The director of Festen, Guillermo Pérez Alayón, along with featured guest designer Victor Sabido Basteris, presented details of the gala at a recent press conference, accompanied by Roger Metri Duarte, head of Sedeculta. Original artistic pieces, displayed during the gala, are being donated to be sold and auctioned, raising funds to benefit the charitable services provided by DIF Yucatán.


Yucatan-based Brands and Designers include: Martin Lopez, Veronica Diaz, Andres Gasque, Gerardo Torres, Adriana Talavera,Javier Fabian, Carlos May, Victor Sanchez, Enrique Polanco, David Silva Delio Puerto, Alberto Aguilar, Patricia Perez, Fernanda Ancona, Diego Ceron, Sofia Palmero, Enrique May, In Love, and Abril Canto.


Other guests include national Mexican artists: Macario Jimenez, Benito Santos, Lydia Lavin, Alejandro Carlin , Alexa Ulibarri, David Solomon, Edgar Lozzano, Sabido Basteris, Alfredo Martinez, Leonardo Mena, Pineda Covalín, Ariane Dutzi, Olmos and Flores.
