Casa Miel is located perfectly in the cultural gem that is Mérida. It is just two blocks from Paseo de Montejo, the city’s most important boulevard filled with restaurants, museums, historical homes, and shops. Within a short walk discover Parque Santa Ana, Parque Santa Lucia, and Plaza Grande. Each neighborhood has its own charm with art galleries, craft stores, cafes, clubs and music. The house is only two blocks from Calle 47, known as “restaurant row,” where many excellent and varied cuisines are offered, and just a few blocks more is Parque La Plancha, Merida’s central park.

Casa Miel features two living rooms on each side of a central foyer with one currently functioning as a TV room. It looks onto an inner courtyard with table for dining alfresco and hanging overhead lights for added ambiance. The second living room is perfect for relaxing or as a home office.

Down the hall is the first bedroom which opens to the courtyard and the first bathroom and shower. Continue down the hall a few steps to the second bedroom. This bedroom looks out to a filtered pool and colorful garden.

The third ensuite bedroom is located off the kitchen and also looks onto the pool area. All of Casa Miel’s rooms open to natural airy outdoor spaces filled with tropical plants and exposed rock walls.

A large dining room table, seating six, has views of the courtyard and flows into an open beautifully built kitchen with custom island, granite countertops, plenty of cabinets and modern appliances. Casa Miel also has filtered water and an ice maker. It is the heart of the home and great place to gather.

The house is filled with original art and original zapote doors and pasta tile floors. It is also very comfortable with A/C units and ceiling fans in every room. Each outdoor exit  has a screen door to protect from mosquitoes. There is a washer and dryer and in the back plus comfortable chairs around the pool and lounge chairs in the courtyard.
